Our History

We strive to be a voice for the voiceless.
— Derl Curry, Director

One Child’s Voice is a nonprofit organization that supports the foster and adoption care world. We are a certified 501(c)3 that was created by Derl and Carlene Curry after they had four children of their own and were moved to adopt six more. Intentionally growing their family to 10 children wasn’t enough. They were moved again to help more children in the foster care system and created One Child’s Voice.

Realizing the needs in the foster care system, our main goal is to spread awareness of children needing forever homes, here in the United States.

“The primary goal of fostering a child is reunification with the child’s biological parents.”
— One Child's Voice

Our Mission

One Child’s Voice is a home missions organization created to bring awareness of the need for foster care and adoption locally. One Child’s Voice is intended to be a voice for children, young or old, that cannot speak for themselves when they’re in need of a forever family. We strive to be a voice for the voiceless.

Call to action

One Child’s Voice is a non-profit charitable organization based out of Guilford County North Carolina created to bring awareness of the need to foster and adopt locally as well as take care of the needs of orphans and foster children and their families.

We partner with Seven Homes and Forever Family in a campaign called “Project 77”, where we’re looking to have churches come alongside with us in sponsoring a child and have their story told on Fox 8 in hopes of finding a “Forever Family”.

We provide car seats, diaper bags, and clothing for Seven Homes Adoption and Foster Care.

We are involved in a campaign to get Local Triad Church Orphan Care Ministries together to form, “Triad Congregation for Kids”, this is a brand new idea, get the correct people together and let’s see what we as local churches can accomplish in helping children in crisis.

We want to be able to help prospective adoptive families with the cost of their home studies.

We have participated in special services over the past five years for “Orphan Sunday”. Orphan Sunday is a day set aside in November to pray and consider work for Orphans, created by C.A.F.O. (Christian Alliance For Orphans).

We have partnered with Guilford County DSS over the past 5 years participating in, “Celebrate The Children”. A campaign to provide Guilford County Foster Children with wonderful Christmases. We also participate in the “giving” of the presents to the families.

We also sponsor children at Seven Homes Foster Adoption Agency for their annual Christmas party.

There are currently 500,000 children in the foster care system in the U.S. The need is great, who will take care of these children?

Prayer is still our greatest need and with your help, these needs can be met!

Thank You!

Derl & Carlene Curry
